Kinda' like the little trick one of my other North Carolina fishing buddies told me about a month ago - that if you spray Listerine mouthwash from a spray bottle around your boat or where you are walking along the shoreline, it keeps the mosquito's away.

I haven't tested that one either, but Steve swears by it and I've heard his wife talk about how well it works when they grill out, so I imagine it must work just as well around his boat on the lake those early morning and late evening hours he fishes.
